Ten years ago, my family and I set out to do things differently. What began as a small, local business with a big belief – that thoughtful design can shape the way people live and connect – has grown into a decade-long journey of craft, collaboration and community.
As we celebrate our tenth anniversary in early 2026, we’re unveiling far more than a milestone. A bold new brand identity, a reimagined logo, and a refreshed website will mark a new chapter for our business – guided by a simple but powerful ethos: “Crafting spaces. Creating legacy.”
A Family Legacy, Built on Design and Integrity
Lacey Group was officially incorporated in December 2015 and began operations in early 2016 with a clear purpose – to create boutique developments that elevate the way people live on the Gold Coast.
As a proud local and second-generation Gold Coaster, I drew inspiration from my late father, Peter Lacey – a much-loved community figure and surf lifesaver. His values of integrity, care and connection continue to guide every decision we make.
From the very beginning, our focus has always been on people – not just buildings. Every project we deliver is about creating spaces that feel personal and enduring. That’s where the idea of Creating Legacy really comes from.
Over the past decade, as the Gold Coast has evolved from a relaxed surfside community into one of Australia’s most desirable coastal cities, we’ve remained committed to staying boutique by design – focusing on craftsmanship, community, and timeless architecture rather than scale.
“I’ve had the privilege of working with both Peter Lacey and the Lacey family over many years. What stands out to me about Lacey Group is the family values and unwavering focus on the key pillars of design, integrity, community connection together with delivering developments that have real purpose. It’s been inspiring to watch Adam and the team carry that vision forward over the past decade.”
– Mark Witheriff, Managing Director – CBRE Gold Coast
Those values — of integrity, connection and purpose – have shaped the way we approach every project. Each building tells part of our story and contributes to the evolving character of the Gold Coast.
A Decade of Design Excellence
Every Lacey project tells a story – one of design detail, coastal lifestyle, and enduring connection.
Among our signature achievements:
- The Jefferson, Palm Beach – one of our first marquee developments, selling out ahead of completion and setting a new benchmark for boutique coastal living.
- Southbreak, North Kirra – a curated collection of 20 apartments, blending modern form with relaxed, beachside character.
- The Monroe, Palm Beach – a sophisticated, 33-apartment address with sweeping ocean views and resort-style rooftop amenities, sold entirely before construction.
- The Del Ray, Kirra Beach – a $65 million collection of 72 luxury residences completed in 2024, celebrated for its design quality and delivered with a heartfelt tribute to the late town planner, Matthew Schneider.
Each project is defined by understated sophistication – natural textures, generous spaces, and an effortless connection between architecture and landscape. Every detail – from the building’s proportions to the material palette – is guided by a philosophy of quiet elegance and coastal restraint.
“We’ve worked closely with the Lacey team on several projects, and what stands out is their genuine commitment to quality – not just in the finished product, but in the way they manage relationships and collaboration. They build with integrity and purpose.”
– Murray Emmerson, Team Leader – Hutchinson Builders (Coolangatta Office)
We’ve always believed in quality over quantity. We’re boutique by design – every detail matters.

Looking Ahead: A New Era for Lacey Group
To mark our tenth anniversary, we’ve lodged the Development Application for our latest Bilinga project – a 27-residence coastal building that represents our fifth medium-rise and second development in Bilinga.
Bilinga holds a special place for us. It’s authentic, relaxed, and perfectly captures what we love about the southern Gold Coast. This new project will reflect that – timeless design, coastal soul, and a clear connection to place.
We’ve also recently secured a new Mermaid Beach site, which we’ll unveil in due course. It promises to be another exciting addition to the Lacey Group collection – a reflection of our ongoing belief in design-led, community-minded development.
These new projects signal the next chapter of our story – one that continues to evolve with innovation, refinement, and enduring quality.
“Lacey Group’s projects represent a refined coastal architecture – timeless, balanced and responsive to place. It’s been a pleasure to partner with a team that values design as a core part of their identity.”
– Adam Beck, Director – BDA Architects
Crafting the Next Ten Years
As we step into our second decade, this rebrand represents far more than a new logo or visual identity – it’s a reaffirmation of who we are and what we stand for.
It’s a commitment to continue building with integrity, designing with intention, and crafting spaces that shape communities for generations to come.
As I reflect on the past ten years, I’m most proud of the relationships we’ve built – with our buyers, partners, consultants and trades. They’re the foundation of everything we’ve achieved, and the reason we continue to build with purpose.
The Gold Coast has given my family and I so much. This milestone isn’t just ours – it belongs to every resident, buyer, partner and tradesperson who’s helped us bring our vision to life.
For us, legacy isn’t about how tall a building stands – it’s about how deeply it connects with the people who call it home.
Ten years on, one thing remains unchanged: our belief that every project is more than a building – it’s a lasting legacy.
